Reporting to the provost, the dean is the responsible academic and executive head of the school and is a member of AUB’s administrative team. The dean is responsible for setting the school strategic direction; ensuring ongoing support of high quality teaching and research; identifying and fostering areas of excellence; and strengthening ties with other distinguished local, regional, and international academic and professional institutions.

Candidates must qualify for appointment to the rank of full professor in nursing and must have an extensive experience in research and administration responsibilities with leadership skills fulfilling the mission and vision of HSON. Candidates must have a distinguished record of  accomplishment as scholars; capacity to advance the school’s academic mission and interests within and outside the university; a demonstrated commitment to recruiting and retaining high quality faculty and students; and the capacity to engage with multiple constituencies including students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
