The
Department of Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine of the American
University of Beirut (AUB) is seeking the following full-time positions
to join its ranks:
1.
Psychiatrist: Candidates are preferably
American board certified or from equivalent accredited training
programs. Additional expertise or training in Geriatric Psychiatry,
Psychosomatic Medicine or Women’s Health is preferred. The ideal
candidate must have an established record in teaching, clinical work and
research. His/her responsibilities will include inpatient and
outpatient care at AUBMC and off-site, resident supervision and teaching
of medical students. Research endeavors are highly encouraged.
Many opportunities for collaboration within the framework of the Abu-Haydar Neuroscience Institute exist with physician-scientists and clinicians from pediatrics, adult/child neurology, neurosurgery and psychiatry. Resources and opportunities for clinical and basic research are also available.

2.
Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychologist
Eligible applicants should hold a PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology or
Counseling from an accredited program in the USA, EU, UK, or Australia.
Licensure and certification to practice psychology in the USA, UK or EU
countries are preferred.
The clinical training of applicants should reflect expertise in diagnostics and provision of psychotherapy with children and adolescents psychologist. Training and experience with such a population are required.
The ideal candidate must have an established record in clinical work, teaching and research.
Proficiency in English is required, while Arabic and / or French are an asset.
His/her responsibilities will include inpatient and outpatient care, supervision of psychology interns and psychiatry residents, as well as teaching of medical students. Research endeavors are highly encouraged.
