Research Visionary Position

The Maroun Semaan Faculty of Engineering & Architecture (MSFEA) at the American University of Beirut (AUB) invites applications for Research Visionary position as part of the expansion plans of the newly-endowed Faculty. The primary mission of this position is to form imaginative cross-disciplinary research teams and projects from previously unexploited combinations of human and other resources available at MSFEA, AUB, and beyond. Ultimately, these teams and projects should lead to novel research centers. In addition, candidates will work with faculty to develop highly competitive extramural grant applications and proposals to international funding agencies (such as, EU, NSF and NIH) in engineering and the sciences. S/he will advise MSFEA faculty on aspects of grant proposal development and management.
The ideal candidate will be aware of emerging research funding opportunities, hold a strong research record including a highly successful career of funded grant applications, be committed to research in the service of humanity, and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills. S/he should hold a doctoral degree with experience in academic, government, or private institutions.
