Job description
The firm offers Associates a unique environment which combines a highly entrepreneurial platform with the analytical rigor and transaction experience of larger “bulge bracket” banks. The M&A Associate’s responsibilities include:
- Coordinating transaction execution and perform business due diligence, including client visits, analysis of business models, and comprehensive review of industry trends and related regulations
- Participating in internal and client meetings throughout the deal process as necessary
- Overseeing the construction and maintenance of detailed financial models to form company valuations and analyze historical and projected financial information to support due diligence throughout the M&A process
- Assist in formulating buyer/investor lists for sell-side M&A mandates
- Leading preparation of all M&A marketing materials (including pitches, confidential presentations, management presentations, process updates, bid summaries, etc.) and other client presentations as needed
- Building relationships and maintaining direct contact with current and prospective clients
- Participating in the recruitment, development, training, and oversight of junior resources
Work Experience: 3-5 years of relevant work experience (finance, consulting or audit)
Knowledge / Qualifications:
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Extensive knowledge of capital markets, investment banking, and M&A advisory services and applicable regulations
- Excellent communication skills (including writing, verbal, and presentation)
- Strong interpersonal skills used within a demanding team environment and in client interaction
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly, solve complex problems, and think creatively to drive optimal client outcomes
- Excellent capability to independently and proactively service multiple clients
Computer Skills: Excel, PowerPoint; knowledge of financial tools such as Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, etc. would be a plus
