Description: 

Establish a mentorship framework that links the beneficiaries (at both STC & NTC) with mentors (entrepreneurs/professionals) to provide inspiration and business advice. This would include establishing a process to recruit mentors, engage them with mentees (through events or one to one meetings), follow up with mentors and beneficiaries, and be responsible for the overall programmatic outcomes of any mentorship activities within the Innovation Labs;
Put a clear and solid yearly mentorship plan and monthly schedule to meet agreed upon targets;
Prepare mentorship curriculum/material in alignment with UNRWA/UNICEF’S mentorship programs;
Collaborate with external partners (such as NGOs or CBOs working within the Innovation Lab) to seek out recommendations for inspirational event themes, speakers and formats;
Establish connections with entrepreneurs, professionals, academia, activists and practitioners in the domain of entrepreneurship, NGOs, public and private sectors, UN agencies, entrepreneurial networks or similar parties that help identify potential mentors;
Develop and maintain a database of mentors and teams to track their activities and progress;
Identify individuals who would make good mentors through background checks and interviews;
Provide mentors with a list of goals that the mentor and mentee should accomplish throughout the course of the program;
Provide mentors with guidance concerning the background of the mentees and what to teach them;
Ensure that youth are paired with an advisor or mentor who meets their specific needs. Monitor and Evaluate mentor/mentee relationships. Facilitator usually monitors these relationships through verbal communications, such as face-to-face or over-the-phone conversations. Indirect communication may include reviewing progress reports written by mentors;
Help develop monitoring & evaluation tools to help monitor progress of mentor/mentee relationships;
Evaluate each mentor/mentee pair to determine if any changes must be made, such as reassigning the mentor or mentee;
Write reports about the success rates or failures of current mentorship programs and keep records of mentorship program progress and report this progress to supervisors and other partners when requested by supervisor;
Document hours put in by mentors, particularly if volunteering credit is provided;
Maintain a database of all participants in the mentorship programs;
Monitor the programs budgets and keep record of mentorship-related activities’ receipts in collaboration with the labs coordinator and lab enablers;
Coordinate with the labs coordinator and enablers in the planning of mentorship events;
Organize events that aim to connect youth with business mentors, who are working professionals, experts, and entrepreneurs. These events may include Speed Mentoring and One to Many events or workshop style events led by volunteer mentors;
Organize events that aim to inspire youth at the innovation labs. Inspirational mentorship events should mainly relate to entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, and digital skills;
Facilitate mentorship relationships between Mentors and teams following the speed mentor events, and to follow up with teams to ensure they are meeting their mentor and troubleshoot any issues with the mentor/mentee relationship;
Share lessons learnt and success stories among the two labs in collaboration with the labs manager;
Follow up with the youth graduates and successful individuals from the community that might act as role models and could be hosts to give inspirational speeches during mentorship events;
Work in cooperation with other management staff to determine the goals and needs of mentorship programs.
