Description:
The
safe shelter Social worker works with people to support them through
difficult times and ensure that vulnerable people, including children
are safeguarded from harm. Their role is to provide support to enable
residents to help themselves. They maintain professional relationships
with the residents, acting as guides and advocates and develop case
management plan
DUTIES

ACADEMIC EDUCATION
DUTIES
- Report to the shelter manager
- Provide listening and counseling services to residents, fill the social file and integrate all related information on the system, develop a case management plan for every resident.
- Respond to emergency cases and run the 24-hour helpline for refugee women and children survivors or at risk of violence, abuse and exploitation urgent cases
- Liaise with lawyers for legal consultations, and refer beneficiaries to relevant service providers when needed
- Conduct working groups and PSS activities with women and/or children
- Accompany beneficiaries during external visits to the courts, UNHCR, or for medical consultations.
- Ensure close follow up on all actions to be considered for individual cases till achieving desired results
- Prepare progress monthly reports on cases of beneficiaries and on activities implemented
- Ensure weekly/monthly updates on the beneficiaries list
- Report in a timely manner any misconduct, challenge or security breach to shelter manager
- Keep track on the residents’ records, documents and services provided
- Work occasionally on weekends or after the working hours for very urgent cases (investigations, medical issues…) in coordination with shelter manager and shelter coordinator
- Participate in training, conferences and attend meetings
- Ensure a high level of coordination with the psychologist
- Coordinate with other partners/stakeholders in the regions working with Refugees to avoid duplication and provide better services
- Perform administrative and secretarial support functions
- Coordinate with the case management supervisor on the cases of the residents

ACADEMIC EDUCATION
- Bachelor degree in Social Work
- 1 to 5 years relevant experience
- Experience working with Refugees and other groups
- Experience in working with vulnerable groups is a plus
