Research Fellow
Project: Translating evidence and building capacity to support water pipe control in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Recruiting for a cohort study funded by the U.S National Institute of Health. The objective of the study is to provide insights on major tobacco dependence milestones for youth and thus in informing prevention and intervention strategies.
Main Duties:
The ideal candidate will be able to:
- Manage the data collection process,
- Contact schools to recruit participants,
- Keep participants' records and contact info up- to- date,
- Develop and update study-related manuals and protocols, - Recruit and train data collectors,
- Prepare for and initiate data collection at each follow up wave,
- Communicate with the project PI and the study team on a regular basis,
- Report any deviation from the protocol to the PI and take appropriate actions to mitigate any deviations,
- Prepare and submit IRB protocols and renewals,
- Keep all study manuals and other study protocols such as the IRB up-to-date,
- Make sure data collection is accurate and supervise data handling including data entry, cleaning, and missing data,
- Upload and update study manuals, protocols, and datasets to the project secure site: extranet.fiu.edu/addiction,
- Initiate and participate in manuscript writing with the team,
- Other duties assigned by the Lebanon Country Lead and the P.
Main Requirements:
- Masters degree in Public Health or other social science. Or a recent PhD graduate in related field,
- A minimum of 5 years of experience.
Duration of Contract: one year, renewable.
