Title: Faculty Positions in the Communication Skills Program

The Communication Skills Program in the Department of English at the American University of Beirut is seeking to fill full-time instructor positions in academic writing to begin August 15, 2019.

Candidates with experience teaching academic writing at university level are encouraged to apply. We particularly invite applicants with a degree and expertise in composition studies, rhetoric and composition, second-language writing, ESL, applied linguistics, or a related field.

Communication Skills instructors engage in teaching writing, language, and communication. The successful candidates are expected to teach at the undergraduate level and to participate in selected professional development opportunities and the ongoing development of the Program.

The appointment is for an initial period of one year with opportunities for renewal. The usual teaching load is three courses per semester. Applicants must have completed their MA by January 2019. The language of instruction is English.
